Internationale Solidarität in der Krise

Liebe Freunde,
Kolleginnen und Kollegen,
liebe Studierende und Absolventen,
liebe Partner und Förderer der Hochschule für Forstwirtschaft in aller Welt,
die CORONA-Krise hat uns alle im Griff!
Es ist gleichermaßen beunruhigend wie tröstlich zu wissen, dass Sie alle, genau wie wir hier in Deutschland, im Land Baden-Württemberg und in Rottenburg, gerade dabei sind, Maßnahmen zum Schutz unserer Studierenden, unserer Mitarbeiter, unserer Gäste und unserer Familien zu ergreifen.
Für uns alle ist eine solche Situation neu. Wir lernen unsere Hochschulen neu und anders kennen, unsere Mitarbeiter, unsere Studierenden und uns selbst. Wir müssen in der Krise „funktionieren“ und uns zugleich auf das Wesentliche konzentrieren sowie auf das unbedingt Notwendige reduzieren. Nicht alles daran ist schlecht. Manche Erkenntnis und manche Erfahrung werden uns auch nach der Krise bleiben und helfen.
So weltumspannend wie diese Krise ist, so weltumspannend sind – ohne das CORONA-Virus - auch die Wissenschaft und der internationale akademische Austausch. Wir stellen uns in unseren Hochschulen und in der Wissenschaft jeden Tag Herausforderungen, die wir lokal, regional und national nicht lösen können: dem Klimawandel, der Energiewende, der Mobilitätswende, der demographischen Veränderungen unserer Gesellschaften, den Migrations- und Fluchtbewegungen und vielem mehr.
Die Wissenschaft braucht den internationalen Austausch mehr denn je. Lassen wir uns gemeinsam durch diese Krise darin nicht beirren, sondern verstehen wir diese neue und zusätzliche Herausforderung sogar als Ermutigung und Bestätigung unserer Kontakte, unseres Austausches auf den Ebene der Professoren, der Mitarbeiter und der Studierenden und als Bestätigung für unsere gemeinsame internationale Forschung!
CORONA sollte uns noch enger zusammenbringen – nicht auseinandertreiben.
Und sobald wie möglich sollten wir auch wieder den Austausch zwischen unseren Mitarbeitern und Studierenden aufnehmen und nach der aktuellen, erzwungenen Reduktion oder Unterbrechung – sollten wir das noch intensiver tun als bisher:
Die jährlich vielen Tausend Begegnungen unserer Studierenden, ihre gegenseitigen Besuche, ihre Erfahrungen in für sie zunächst fremden Kulturen, Familien und Hochschulen sind unverzichtbare Beiträge zur Völkerverständigung – und damit zum Weltfrieden!
Darin dürfen wir nicht nachlassen.
Wir, die Professoren, die Mitarbeiter und die Studierenden der Hochschule Rottenburg nützen die reduzierte Hektik und Geschwindigkeit unseres Alltags auch dazu, ab und zu an Sie zu denken – an unsere Freunde, Kollegen und Partner in aller Welt!
Kommen Sie gut durch die Krise. Bleiben Sie gesund oder werden Sie wieder rasch ganz gesund.
Und lassen Sie uns den festen Vorsatz fassen, dass wir sobald wie möglich wieder Kontakt zueinander aufnehmen werden, unseren Austausch intensivieren und uns gegenseitig besuchen.

Dear students and graduates,
Dear partners and sponsors of the University of Forestry all over the world,
the CORONA crisis has us all under control!
It is both - unsettling and comforting - to know that you, like us here in Germany, in the state of Baden-Württemberg and in Rottenburg, are all taking measures to protect our students, our employees, our guests and our families.
Such a situation is new to all of us. It gives us a new and different way of knowing our universities, our employees, our students and ourselves. We have to “function” in the crisis and at the same time concentrate on what is essential and reduce it to what is absolutely necessary.
Not everything about it is bad. Some knowledge and experience will remain and help us even after the crisis
Science and international academic exchange are as global as this crisis is – at least in times without the CORONA virus. In our universities and in science, we face challenges every day that we cannot solve locally, regionally and nationally: climate change, the energy turnaround, the mobility turnaround, demographic changes in our societies, migration and refugee movements and much more.
Science needs international exchange more than ever. Let us not be misled by this crisis, but let us understand this new and additional challenge even as an encouragement and confirmation of our contacts, our exchange at the level of professors, employees and students and as a confirmation for our common international research!
CORONA should bring us closer together - not drive us apart!
And as soon as possible, we should start the exchange between our employees and students again and after the current, forced reduction or interruption –we should do this even more intensively than before:
Our students' many thousands of exchanges each year, their mutual visits, their experiences in cultures, families and universities that are initially foreign to them are indispensable contributions to international understanding - and thus to world peace!
We cannot let up in that!
We, the professors, the employees and the students of the Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences also use the reduced hectic and speed of our everyday life in these days to think of you from time to time - of our friends, colleagues and partners all over the world!
Get through the crisis well. Stay healthy or quickly get well again.
And let us make the firm intention that we will get in touch with each other again as soon as possible, intensify our exchange and even visit each other as soon as posible.
Now more than ever!

Estimados estudiantes y graduados,
Estimados socios y patrocinadores de la Universidad Forestal de Rottenburg en todo el mundo,
¡La crisis de CORONA nos tiene a todos bajo control!
Es inquietante y reconfortante saber que usted, como nosotros aquí en Alemania, en el estado de Baden-Württemberg y en Rottenburg, están tomando medidas para proteger a nuestros estudiantes, nuestros empleados, nuestros huéspedes y nuestras familias.
Tal situación es nueva para todos nosotros. Tenemos una forma nueva y diferente de conocer nuestras universidades, nuestros empleados, nuestros estudiantes y – también nosotros mismos. Tenemos que "funcionar" en la crisis y al mismo tiempo concentrarnos en lo que es esencial y reducirlo a lo que es absolutamente necesario.
No todo de esto es malo. Algunos conocimientos y experiencias permanecerán y nos ayudarán incluso después de la crisis.
La ciencia y el intercambio académico internacional son tan globales como esta crisis – por lo menos en tiempos sin el virus CORONA. En nuestras universidades y en la ciencia, todos los días enfrentamos desafíos que no podemos resolver a nivel local, regional y nacional: el cambio climático, el cambio energético, el cambio de movilidad, los cambios demográficos en nuestras sociedades, la migración y los movimientos de refugiados y mucho más.
La ciencia necesita más intercambio internacional que nunca.
¡No nos dejemos engañar por esta crisis, pero entendemos este desafío nuevo y adicional incluso como un estímulo y una confirmación de nuestros contactos, nuestro intercambio a nivel de profesores, empleados y estudiantes y como confirmación de nuestra investigación internacional común! CORONA debería acercarnos más, no separarlos.
Y tan pronto como sea posible, deberíamos comenzar el intercambio entre nuestros empleados y estudiantes nuevamente y después de la reducción o interrupción forzada actual, deberíamos hacerlo aún más intensamente que antes.
Los miles de encuentros de nuestros estudiantes cada año, sus visitas mutuas, sus experiencias en culturas, familias y universidades que inicialmente son extrañas para ellos son contribuciones indispensables para la comprensión internacional, y por lo tanto para la paz mundial!
No podemos dejar pasar eso!
Nosotros, los profesores, los empleados y los estudiantes de la Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas de Rottenburg también usamos el nuevo ritmo y la velocidad agitados de nuestra vida cotidiana para pensar en Uds. de vez en cuando - en nuestros amigos, colegas y socios de todo el mundo!
Superen bien la crisis. Mantienense saludable o recuperense los más rápidposible.
Y hagamos la firme intención de contactarnos de nuevo lo antes posible, intensificar nuestro intercambio y visitarnos personalmente, también.
¡Ahora más que nunca!
