A cooperation of the Rottenburg University for Applied Forest Sciences and Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia

Supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through funds from the German Ministry of Cooperation and Development (BMZ)

During a two weeks’ seminar, the Summer School covers the thematic areas of sustainable rural development in Ethiopia and Germany, such as agriculture, forestry, rural economics, tourism, renewable energy, water management and geography. There will be a combination of lectures and student excursions both at the Bahir Dar University and the University of Applied Forest Sciences in Rottenburg. Students are welcome to join either in person on one of the respective sites, or via zoom. All events will be broadcasted online via zoom to the partner sites.
The seminar has 6 ECTS, subject to a successfully completed seminar paper in the framework of the above topics, to be submitted after the seminar. For respective information see the module description | PDF of the seminar.
Admission is free. The Summer School is open for BSc or MSc students.
Students participating in person have to pay for their own travel, accommodation and subsistence during the Summer School. The International Office can offer support for incomings to find accommodation.
