Internationality SENCE
Thanks to the good international contacts of the participating universities (Rottenburg University of Applied Forest Sciences, Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences and Ulm University of Applied Sciences), many students can carry out their projects or Master's theses abroad. Existing research collaborations with partners and research institutions in Europe (e.g., Solar Energy Research Centre Falun, Alter Alsace Energies Strasbourg, CMR Prototech AS Bergen, KTH Stockholm, Universidad de Oviedo), North America (e.g., University of British Columbia, Concordia University Montréal) and the United States (e.g., University of Zurich) are also part of the programme. North America (e.g., University of British Columbia, Concordia University Montréal), Asia (HNB Garhwal University India, Linuo Paradigma China), South America (Marine Energy Research & Innovation Centre Chile, OrcaTec Galapagos, Poyanco Universidad Catolica Chile) and Africa (e.g., University of Energy and Natural Resources Ghana, Makerere, University of Kampala) are to be expanded and consolidated. The fact that the degree programme is firmly anchored at three universities is very helpful here, as this significantly increases the number of possible partner institutions.
Foreign students can also take the degree programme without a sound knowledge of German. For example, the 2nd and 4th semesters are spent on project work (or the Master's thesis), which can easily be completed in English, at least at the research institutes of the participating universities. The degree programme is also currently working on a survey to determine which of the existing lectures in the 1st and especially 3rd semester can be held in English if required, to offer foreign students an even broader range of options; the SENCE student body has few reservations in this regard due to their very good English language skills.
