EXCHANGE STUDENTS – SENCE

Summer semester
Students from abroad can, in principle, take part in the second SENCE semester, which consists of two course papers and the so-called "status seminar". They can participate in the realisation of projects of the SENCE programme directors (depending on the partner university). ECTS can be awarded in accordance with the StuPO (13 ECTS per dissertation), and students can take part in the first or, depending on the length of their stay, the second status seminar (2 ECTS), which includes the respective project presentations (possibly in English) – previous projects of their own can also be presented as an option.

In the winter semester
Principle, students from abroad can also attend lectures in the first and third semesters. They should already have a good understanding of the German language. ECTS credits are awarded according to the lectures attended (see StuPO). The selection of lectures in which the student wishes to participate takes place at the beginning of the lecture period.

Procedure:

  • Initial contact by the student with a programme director or the International Office at least 3 months before the start of the stay.
  • The information is passed on to the respective non-contacted instance of the incoming university (if the first contact is via the AAA, then the information is passed on to the relevant head of degree programme; if the first contact is via the head of degree programme, then the information is passed on to the AAA).
  • The programme directors give their approval or rejection, assign a topic (in the summer semester), and forward the general information (name, contact, country of origin, academic background, preferences) to the SENCE office.
  • The SENCE office informs all programme directors, and the student data is documented and included accordingly.

INCOMING STUDENTS – SENCE

Summer term
Students from foreign countries can participate in the second semester in principle, which consists of two study works and the so-called "Statusseminar". It is possible to participate in projects led by one of the programme directors of the SENCE Master's programme. These project contributions are concluded with a final report. According to the study and examination regulations, each report can earn up to 13 ECTS credits. For a better integration of the student, they can take part in the "Statusseminar" and present the first study (also in English), in special cases, it is also possible to present formerly developed projects that have a reference to renewable energies.

Winter term
Students from foreign countries can also participate in the lectures of the first and third semesters. Therefore, a good level of German language skills is necessary. The amount of accumulated ECTS depends on the number of token courses. The choice of lectures in which the student participates takes place at the beginning of the relevant semester.

Proceeding:

  • The first contact of the student takes place via the head of the SENCE Master studies or via the International Office at least 3 months before the planned stay.
  • The information flows from the head of studies to the international office or vice versa.
  • The head of studies gives consent or refuses the application, finds a technical/scientific topic for the incoming student, and remits the basic information (name, contact, country, academic background, topic of study work) to the SENCE-Office.
  • The SENCE-Office informs the heads of studies of the partner universities, documents the ongoing and integrates the students as much as possible.
