Why study Renewable Energies in Rottenburg

This is what Max, an EE student in Rottenburg, had to say during his science slam on sustainable development.

Our society's awareness of sustainability and a climate-friendly energy supply is constantly increasing. We need to drastically reduce the use of fossil fuels and are therefore constantly researching new technologies that enable a complete system change.

This is exactly where the Renewable Energy degree programme in Rottenburg comes in. Through a balance of knowledge transfer and practice-orientated study design, our students are trained to become problem solvers for the climate crisis.

Studying Renewable Energies in Rottenburg means becoming an expert in modern heat generation. Students work on optimising the potential of electric mobility, exploring the optimal integration of wind, solar, and biomass as energy sources of the future, and learn about modern energy storage solutions.

Where can the dream of working in the diverse field of renewable energies and actively shaping the future be realised? – At Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences!

Climate protection and the energy transition are the issues of our time. Fossil fuels are becoming increasingly scarce and are polluting our environment. At the same time, our energy requirements are also increasing – a dangerous cycle that is increasingly jeopardising our livelihoods. The EU is therefore calling for "climate neutrality" by 2050. To achieve this, we must continue to increase our energy production from renewable sources, while at the same time further expand the possibilities of modern energy storage and consistently utilising the opportunities to save energy.

Our practice-orientated Renewable Energy degree programme prepares our students for this diverse professional field. In order to cover the entire energy demand with renewable energies, technical advances are needed that are researched by committed visionaries. Students who opt for this degree programme have excellent opportunities on the job market on the one hand and contribute to a cleaner and healthier world with a future on the other.

"I'm studying renewable energies at Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences because the renewable energies market is a market of the future and offers me good career prospects." Student in 2nd semester

We optimally prepare our students for their role as shapers of the energy transition. Our renewable energy degree programme teaches them the technical, economic and socially relevant background and current developments of the energy transition. Our students are actively involved in researching new technologies, e.g., renewable heat generation and processes for integrating renewables into the energy system, as well as the transformation of the energy supply system (e.g., through electric cars).

Where is knowledge not only imparted theoretically, but also practically and internationally? – At Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences!

The Renewable Energies degree programme combines theoretical knowledge transfer with continuous practical relevance. Our students acquire broad and comprehensive knowledge and apply their theoretical expertise directly to current practical issues. Practical team and project work with partners from industry, administration and authorities deepens their theoretical knowledge and enables them to exchange ideas with future contacts from the industry during their studies.

Our students put their technical knowledge to the test not only during the integrated practical semester but also on numerous educational trips and excursions in Germany and abroad, allowing them to get to know their future employers. Practical and methodical exercises are also carried out in the field and in the laboratory.

Studying renewable energies means actively participating in the research and development of a climate-friendly energy supply during your studies, thanks to the in-depth specialist knowledge.
