Studied physics in Mainz and Seattle. Doctorate (1989) and habilitation (1997) at the University of Tübingen. Research and teaching activities at the University of Tokyo (1990–1991) and the University of Hanover (1991–1993).
Application-orientated research and development work at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in the field of sound insulation (2000–2011). Development of a mini noise barrier for rail transport.
Professor of Building Physics and Mathematics at Mainz University of Applied Sciences since 2011. In the winter semester 2016, teaching assignment in the field of noise protection at the HFR.

Ass. jur. Manuel Hafner, Dipl.-Verww. (FH)
2006–2010 Studied at the University of Public Administration in Kehl am Rhein, graduating with a degree in public administration (FH). Practical work during his studies, including at the European Office of the City of Mannheim and the Representation of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the European Union in Brussels. Subsequently studied law at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. Legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Tübingen with a stay abroad in Buenos Aires/Argentina, and practical work at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany there. Long-standing assistant at the Chair of Public Law, Environmental Law, Infrastructure Law, and Comparative Law of Prof. Dr. Johannes Saurer, LL.M. (Yale). Since the winter semester 2015, a lecturer at the Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences for Environmental and Construction Products Law.

M. Eng. Florian Renz
Master's degree in project management/civil engineering. Since 2015, a research assistant at Biberach University of Applied Sciences in the field of digitalisation in the construction industry. Building Information Modelling (BIM), a modern, IT-supported planning and construction method, and the software solutions required for this are the central topic of research and transfer.
Since August 2019, Mr Renz has been Managing Director of the newly founded BIMzert GmbH, which offers training courses and certificates on the subject of BIM and is committed to the comprehensive digitalisation of the construction industry. He also works as a BIM lecturer and BIM consultant for construction companies, planning offices, associations, and chambers.

Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Architekt Michael Welle
After completing training as a carpenter and spending a year abroad in the United States, he studied architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Constance, graduating with a degree in engineering. He later worked as an employee and building biologist at Harter und Kanzler in Freiburg, where he received numerous awards.
In 2017, he became self-employed with a focus on ecological construction, both for new buildings, listed buildings, and conversions.
Since 2017, guest lecturer on the Master's programme in Resource-Efficient Building for the subject of healthy living and interior design.
