Studying Renewable Energies: Sustainable and future-orientated

The Renewable Energy degree programme combines the teaching of in-depth technical and economic knowledge with practical implementation. Students on this degree programme benefit from a practical semester, educational trips and excursions, which serve as preparation for later work in this important industry so that students of renewable energies can point us towards a sustainable and clean future. Those who study Renewable Energies are choosing a degree programme with a future!

Renewable Energies: These are the course contents

The Renewable Energy degree programme aims to produce visionaries and problem solvers who research clean and sustainable energy. The switch to renewable energies will bring about technical, economic, and social upheaval – our students are part of this upheaval and are actively shaping it.
The provision of Renewable Energies and their efficient use, the development of technologies and processes for renewable energy systems, and the transformation of the energy supply system are the focus of the Bachelor's degree programme in Renewable Energies. Throughout the programme, the transfer of theoretical knowledge and practical implementation go hand in hand.

The Renewable Energy degree programme covers work and research related to renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, water, geothermal energy, and biomass, as well as the associated technologies for generating electricity, heat, and fuels. Students develop sustainable solution concepts and explore innovative technologies.

In seven semesters, the Renewable Energies degree programme provides students with a broad scientific, engineering, and economic foundation as well as in-depth knowledge in the fields of energy and plant technology, energy economics and law, biomass processing and logistics. This gives them the best possible preparation for their future careers. Highly qualified and motivated, our students start their own journey towards a climate-friendly future.

One of the most important building blocks for this is the sensible balance between academic aspirations and the practical organisation of the course. A wide range of compulsory elective subjects, excursions in Germany and abroad, project, laboratory, and group work, the involvement of practitioners as lecturers, and an integrated practical semester offer students on the Renewable Energies degree programme the opportunity to set individual priorities, hone their study profile, and apply the knowledge acquired during their studies in practice.

The optional study models "Semester PLUS" and "Study at an adapted pace" offer students maximum flexibility. They not only benefit from a wide range of additional offers but also from the excellent support provided by the degree programme.

This team teaches students in the Renewable Energies degree programme

An interdisciplinary team of 7 professors and other lecturers from business and research makes up the teaching staff of the Renewable Energy degree programme. At Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences, it is a matter of course that lecturers and students meet as equals and conduct research together.

The team is completed by two programme coordinators who are on hand to help students with any questions or problems they may have.
