Through a partnership with the Central Guild Association of Chimney Sweeps, it is possible to study for a Bachelor’s degree in ‘Renewable Energies’ at Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences whilst simultaneously completing an apprenticeship as a chimney sweep at a training company. Parts of the vocational content can be covered by the course curriculum, practical training takes place during the lecture-free period, and the work placement required as part of the degree programme can, under certain conditions, also be carried out at the training company, meaning that at the end of the programme, vocational training and an academic degree are obtained in parallel and with virtually no loss of time.
Selecting specific modules in the compulsory elective area leads to the “Chimney Sweep” study profile being certified on the Bachelor’s degree certificate. With a journeyman’s certificate and this study profile, it is possible to obtain the right to manage a district, just like a master chimney sweep.

Please seek advice from us and your designated trainers on this matter.

Due to the wide range of subjects on offer, the ‘Renewable Energies’ Bachelor’s programme has a fixed set of compulsory elective modules. Nevertheless, students can take interesting additional modules in which lecturers from a wide variety of departments share their specialist knowledge – whether out of personal interest or to develop a specific academic profile.

Although these modules cannot be counted towards the degree programme, credits are still earned and the corresponding achievements are documented on the degree certificate.
